Volunteer in a magical surf paradise with educational needs and adventure ensured. WAVES for Development is a registered not-for-profit association in Peru that uses surfing to make the world a better place. WAVES offers Educational Surf programs to local youth and Adventure Voluntourism programs to travelers.
Educational Surf programs provide local youth life skills so they develop into empowered and responsible adults.
As a volunteer, you will work closely with other volunteers, WAVES staff, the school Director and in the ocean.
Adventure Voluntourism
While Adventure Voluntourism can be defined as: "Voluntary service realized in destinations where physical, cultural or environmental action, uncertainty of outcome and risk are unique, calculated and embraced." It is also the name given to WAVES for Development volunteer program of which surfing is a big part.
